Obra multidisciplinaria que mezcla coreografía, teatro, arte sonoro y multimedia, para recrear, con una visión contemporánea, el trabajo de José Clemente Orozco ubicado en el Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso. A partir de los cuatro estilos pictóricos plasmados por Orozco dentro del recinto, extraemos la pintura de los muros y les damos un lenguaje escénico, a partir de la utilización de los tres pisos del patio central, con el manejo del cuerpo, uso de marionetas gigantes y la intervención del coro vocal de San Ildefonso. Así traducimos el trasfondo social del muralismo mexicano, junto con el uso del símbolo del agave que Orozco reprodujo a lo largo de su obra y que nos evoca su búsqueda relacionada a su conexión con la naturaleza, el territorio y la identidad. Ésta es una intervención que traduce el esfuerzo del pintor para cuajar en los muros del Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso los ideales de un arte revolucionario, crítico y auténtico.

A multidisciplinary piece that mixes choreography, theater, sound art, and digital projections to recreate a contemporary vision of José Clemente Orozco's murals inside of Mexico City's Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso. Following the four distinct painting styles used by Orozco, we draw the paintings into the language of performance within the Colegio's central patio and sorrounding three floors using the physical body, giant puppets, and San Ildefonso's own chorus. In this way we translate the social conditions represented in Mexican muralism into the present moment. Importantly we use of the symbol of the agave, which Orozco frequently included in his work in order to evoke his search for his connection to Mexico's landscape and national identity. This is an intervention that translates the painter's effort to embed in the walls of the Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso the ideals of a new, critical, and authentic art that arose following the Mexican Revolution.
